There are misconceptions that when you use cbd oil for dogs, it will be like making them use cannabis strains and make them high. However, in order to clarify such things, we will now tell you that the cbd oil is actually a hemp cbd oil for dogs. Both marijuana and hemp came from the plant cannabis and extracted from the chemicals inside the plant called Cannabinoids.
As it turns out though, it’s unfortunately not a great idea to get your pup high. While detailed scientific research on the matter is understandably lacking, a recent 5-year study out of Colorado showed an overall increase in ‘canine toxicosis’ due to THC ingestion. In other words, unlike in humans, THC can be potentially toxic – even fatal – to our furry little sidekicks. So better to just keep it out of their reach altogether.
Going forward, another emerging trend among recreational users are wellness lifestyles built around cannabis. This is certainly part of the influence of California’s new recreational marijuana market, which went online January 1, 2018. California is already an epicenter for health and wellness lifestyles and fads. Expect to see more of the same now that cannabis is completely legal.

The main difference between the two is in its chemical composition, specifically in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the chemical responsible marijuana’s psychological effects. An average batch of marijuana contains anywhere from 5-20% THC content. Some premium marijuana can have up to 25-30% THC. Hemp, on the other hand, has a max THC level of 0.3%, essentially making it impossible to feel any psychoactive effect or get a “high”. This threshold is heavily regulated in other countries that have legalized hemp.Hemp also has high cannabidiol (CBD) content that acts as THC’s antagonist, essentially making the minimal amount of THC useless.
The black-market purchases were 8% lower than in the third quarter, the first to follow full legalization of cannabis for adult recreational use on Oct. 17. On a percentage basis, illegal sales accounted for 79% of the overall market, down from 90% in the third quarter, the data showed. The development of the legal market was hampered by shortages of product after many provinces underestimated demand.
With that said, I'm definitely intrigued enough by the subtle effects to continue taking the oil and possibly even to up the dosage to the recommended two full droppers of the 30mL bottle per day for a week or so. Plus, I take comfort in knowing that it's an all-natural treatment for anxiety that's responsibly grown on family farms in Colorado. Something that's safe, legal, requires no prescription, and makes me less anxious, less scatterbrained, and more focused? I'm definitely on board.
As more people start paying attention to hemp, more facts are shared to demonstrate the power of this plant—hence why it’s often called the “Miracle Crop.” What has really been highlighted is the hemp seed’s nutritional benefits and its fiber’s durability. Hemp has been known to have over 25,000 applications. The key benefit of hemp is that it is such a sustainable and eco-friendly crop as well as being so useful. Hemp will be a key ingredient as we fight global warming and climate change.

I was originally prescribed this as part of my protocol to help with my Hashimoto’s, but I find it to be awesome for joint and muscle pain from injury as well. It is great for dry skin, too, shea butter is so soothing. I especially appreciate the ingredients – no preservatives, or fragrance chemicals, just good simple stuff. Keep up the good work and thank you!
CBD is believed to help calm pain- and anxiety-related ailments by supporting a pet’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate every biological system, including neurologic, cardiovascular, digestive, and immune function. Scientists have found that CBD mimics other naturally occurring chemicals that bind to these receptors, helping to keep a pet's body in dynamic equilibrium.

Hemp isn’t completely absent of psychoactive compounds, but that doesn’t mean it will get you high. Hemp plants simply don’t produce enough THC to have an intoxicating effect. CBD, though psychoactive, is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid and won’t produce any form of a euphoric high on its own. In other words, hemp has plenty of therapeutic potential, but you’ll have to look elsewhere if you want to get high.
I have a elderly small dog who is anxious and that won’t eat after his dental. He is a lean Italian Greyhound on the small side of the weight spectrum and he cannot afford to lose any weight. Unfortunately he is not recovering as well or quickly as the Vet had hoped. I had read and heard that CBD Oil would help increase the appetite? Of course I would run this by his Vet before trying it.
